💗 Why I’m calling you Legacy Clients (and why names matter to me)
I want to share a small but intentional shift I’m making and why it matters.
You may notice that moving forward, I’m no longer referring to you as “graduates” of the program.
I’m calling you Legacy Clients instead.
That change wasn’t accidental. It came from reflection on my coaching style, on the nurses I’ve worked with over the last four years, and on what actually happens after the first 12 weeks.
Because names shape how we see ourselves.
And language either reinforces growth or quietly limits it.
Why “graduate” no longer fit
The word graduate implies completion.
An ending.
A finish line.
And while you absolutely completed the 12-week container, what I’ve seen over and over again is this:
The most meaningful work doesn’t end there.
Graduation language subtly suggests:
“I learned the thing.”
“I’m done now.”
“I should have this handled.”
But that’s not how real financial confidence is built especially for nurses.
Money isn’t a course you finish.
It’s a relationship you live inside of.
And calling you graduates didn’t fully honor that truth.
What I see in nurses long after the 12 weeks
After years of coaching, here’s what I know to be true:
The nurses who thrive long-term aren’t the ones who “ace” the program.
They’re the ones who stay in conversation with their money.
They come back during:
• Career transitions
• Burnout seasons
• Income changes
• Family planning
• Big decisions that don’t fit neatly into a worksheet
They don’t need re-teaching.
They need continuity.
And that’s not graduation energy.
That’s legacy energy.
Why “Legacy Client” fits better
Legacy is about what compounds over time.
It’s about:
• Integration, not completion
• Refinement, not overhaul
• Wisdom, not urgency
• Stewardship, not perfection
Legacy clients aren’t starting from zero.
They’re building on a foundation they already laid.
They’re learning how to:
• Trust themselves with money in different seasons
• Adjust without unraveling
• Hold both confidence and humility
• Let systems evolve as life evolves
That deserves a name that reflects depth not distance.
What this says about my coaching philosophy
Part of being a strong coach is knowing when language no longer serves the work.
I don’t believe in positioning myself as someone you “graduate from.”
I believe in being a thinking partner as your life changes.
Calling you Legacy Clients reflects how I see my role:
• Not the expert you outgrow
• Not the program you finish
• But the steady place you can return to
Because long-term financial wellness isn’t built in sprints.
It’s built through sustained attention with support.
What I want you to take from this
This name change isn’t about status.
It’s about truth.
You are not “done.”
And you are not behind.
You are in the middle of building something that compounds quietly over time clarity, confidence, and self-trust.
That’s legacy work.
And I’m really honored to continue supporting you in it.
