The Bigger Goal

What would change if nursing became optional?

Maybe you keep nursing full-time because you love it. Maybe you go part-time, stop picking up overtime, take a career break, build something of your own, or retire earlier than you thought possible. The specific choice belongs to you.

Making nursing optional isn't about escape. It's about having a choice.
Your Immediate Problem

Making good money isn't the same thing as knowing what to do with it.

You can be capable, responsible, and earning more than you ever expected, and still feel like your financial life should make more sense than it does.

01

You know a lot, but still second-guess yourself.

You save the posts, listen to the podcasts, and know you should save and invest. Every decision still feels like it might be the wrong one.

02

Your money feels S C A T T E R E D.

Accounts, cash, retirement plans, sinking funds, debt, investments. You have pieces of a financial life, but not one clear picture.

03

You keep starting over.

You get motivated, make a new plan, life gets busy, and eventually you feel disconnected again.

04

You wonder how long you want to have to work this hard.

You want to enjoy the life you're building now without sacrificing future you.

The NurseMoneyDate® Difference

You don't need more financial literacy. You need to trust yourself with money.

You can understand the math and still not trust yourself with money. Because financial decisions aren't made with a calculator alone. They're shaped by fear, guilt, pressure, avoidance, past experiences, and the stories you've learned about what you're “supposed” to do. NurseMoneyDate® works with both.

The Money Date Method

Financial self-trust is built through a practice, not a perfect plan.

Inside NurseMoneyDate®, we come back to the same five-part practice again and again. You don't have to get money perfect. You need a way to return to it, understand what is happening, and make the next decision.

Investing → Confidence → A Bigger Life

Traci grew her investing confidence, and later built The Book Haul.

Traci is a pain management nurse practitioner. She came in wanting more clarity and confidence with investing. Through the work, she learned how ETFs, index funds, and IRA options fit into her financial life, reduced debt, and grew her net worth. Later, she brought another part of her life to life: her mobile bookstore business, The Book Haul.

That is why I love her story so much: it shows that the outcome is not just understanding an ETF or an IRA. It's what your money starts making possible in the rest of your life.

Optionality isn't only retirement. Sometimes it's having enough financial confidence and stability to create another chapter.

      Meet Your Mentor

Built for nurses, led by a nurse who’s been there.

I’m April, a former pediatric ICU nurse, Certified Financial Education Instructor, and CFP® certification candidate. I’ve spent years coaching nurses through real financial decisions, not just teaching financial concepts.

      By The Numbers
5,500+ hours coaching nurses on their finances
      100+ nurses coached through NurseMoneyDate®
      CFEI® Certified Financial Education Instructor
CFP® certification candidate continuing advanced financial planning training

I didn’t create NurseMoneyDate® because nurses needed more financial information. I created it because I knew firsthand how different money can feel when your schedule, income, burnout, family expectations, and career decisions all intersect.

Weekly Money Dates helped me pay off debt, build wealth, invest consistently, and eventually reach a point where nursing was no longer something I financially needed to do.

That doesn’t mean every nurse should leave nursing. It means your money can give you enough choice that you get to decide what nursing looks like in your life.

      Is This The Right Fit?

This is for the nurse who’s ready to stop circling her money and start working with it.

You do not need to have everything figured out before you join. You just need to be willing to look at what’s real, ask questions, make decisions, and take the next step with support.

Let’s talk about the $3,000 investment

This is a significant investment in your financial dreams. Before you decide whether the mentorship is for you, I want you to hear it from someone who has actually made the investment.

Nurse Patrice was nervous. Making this kind of investment in herself felt uncomfortable. Here’s why she was so glad she did it.
Nurse Patrice · Burn Nurse In her own words
Nurse Patrice, Burn Nurse testimonial video thumbnail
      Watch Patrice’s story

Why Patrice was glad she made the investment.

Not because she needed more generic money information. Because the support changed what she was able to do with the financial life she already had.

      01

      Someone unbiased in her corner.

Not a parent. Not a sibling. Not a coworker. Patrice valued having someone outside of her everyday life who could look at her money without the history, emotion, or opinions that can come from the people closest to us.

      02

      It was specific to her.

This was not generic financial education. The conversations were tailored to her accounts, her goals, her investments, and the decisions she was actually trying to make.

      03

      The organization felt priceless.

Getting everything organized helped Patrice see what she had, understand how the pieces fit together, and identify places where she could be more intentional, including savings on investment fees.

She was nervous to invest in herself. She was glad she did.

      Questions

Before you decide, let’s clear up the things nurses usually ask.

These are the practical questions that tend to come up right before someone joins.

      Absolutely not.

Making nursing optional does not mean you have to leave nursing.

It means building your finances so your career decisions are not dictated entirely by needing the next paycheck.

You may want to stay at the bedside. You may want to cut back on shifts, change specialties, take a longer leave, travel more, move into a different role, or eventually leave altogether.

      The goal is choice.

      No.

I have worked with nurses in their early 20s who are brand-new grads, and I have worked with nurses in their 50s and 60s who are getting ready for retirement.

The work looks different because your life is different.

A nurse who is 24 may be figuring out how to use her first 403(b), build savings, and start investing well. A nurse who is 58 may be asking whether she can retire, how to use the accounts she has spent decades building, or what needs to happen before she cuts back at work.

That is exactly why this mentorship is personalized. We work with your age, your numbers, your accounts, your goals, and the season of life you are actually in.

      Maybe especially then.

Many of the nurses I work with do not have an income problem. They earn good money.

The problem is that they are not always sure what that money should actually be doing for them.

How much should stay in cash? How much should you invest? Are you using the right accounts? Are you actually on track? Could you afford to work less? Are there things you could be doing differently with the income you already have?

A higher income gives you more options.

The mentorship helps you make intentional decisions with those options instead of simply earning more and hoping you are doing the right things with it.

      Probably.

You are not joining because you are incapable of managing your money.

You are joining because you do not want to spend another nine weeks Googling every question, saving random Instagram reels, collecting TikTok advice, opening fifteen tabs, and trying to piece together whether any of it actually applies to you.

You bring the decision and the numbers.

I help you make sense of them in the context of your specific financial life, and together we turn that into a clear next step.

You are a nurse. I expect your life to be full.

This mentorship was intentionally built around focused implementation rather than hours and hours of content you have to keep up with.

Some weeks your Money Date might happen on a Sunday morning. Another week it may happen between three night shifts.

The goal is not to follow a perfect schedule.

The goal is to keep working with your money consistently, even when real life is happening around you.

At the bare minimum, I would plan for about two focused hours every week.

That includes working through your weekly Money Date, reviewing my feedback, taking the actions we decide on, and using live coaching when you need it.

Some weeks may take less. Bigger financial decisions may take more.

I do not want you joining if you have absolutely no space to work on your money.

Your participation matters. This is something we actively work through together.

Think of it as having me in your back pocket while you are working through your money.

When a question comes up, you can send me a message.

It can be a text, voice note, photo, screenshot, statement, account screen, or whatever helps me understand what you are looking at.

You do not have to save every question for a scheduled call or remember to ask me three days later.

Something comes up in your real financial life?

      Bring it into the mentorship.

That ongoing access is a big part of what makes this different from taking a course and trying to apply everything by yourself.

The majority of your mentorship experience is private between you and me.

Your financial information, weekly work, account questions, screenshots, statements, coaching feedback, and the decisions we are working through live inside your private coaching space.

The community is there in the background as an additional layer of support.

It is not the place where you are required to work through every detail of your financial life.

You are not joining a program where you have to announce your salary, debt balance, investment accounts, or personal financial decisions to a room full of people.

You decide what you want to share.

The heart of the mentorship is still your money, your questions, and my eyes on your specific situation.

      Yes. Absolutely.

If you want me to understand something about your financial life, I want to see it.

Your checking and savings accounts. Your 401(k), 403(b), 457, TSP, pension, Roth IRA, brokerage account, HSA, debt, benefits, pay information, investment holdings, employer plan options, account statements, or anything else relevant to what we are working through.

You choose what you are comfortable sharing.

But this is not a situation where you ask me a generic question about “someone with a 403(b)” and I give you a generic answer.

We can look at your 403(b). Your investments. Your benefits. Your numbers. Your options.

      This gets really specific.

We are not staying at the level of “you should probably invest for retirement.” We can get into the exact accounts you have, what you own inside them, how much you are contributing, and how those accounts fit into the rest of your financial life.

I share screenshots and walk-throughs from Fidelity, Vanguard, and Charles Schwab so you can actually see how common retirement and investment accounts are set up and the best-practice details I want you paying attention to.

That can mean looking at your 401(k), 403(b), 457, TSP, Roth IRA, brokerage account, HSA, pension options, employer match, contribution settings, or the investments already sitting inside those accounts.

The point is not to hand you a generic investing lesson. It is to help you understand your accounts, your options, and what makes sense for your situation.

Money Rounds are the live coaching part of NurseMoneyDate®.

There are three 30-minute opportunities every single week.
Come to the one that works best for your schedule.

This is not another presentation you sit through.

You can bring the real decision you are currently working through.

“I have an extra $1,000 this month. Where should it go?” “I’m looking at my 403(b) and I don’t understand what I own.” “I want to drop to two shifts a week. Can my finances support it?” “You recommended I do this, but I’m still hesitating. Can we talk it through?”

We use the time to coach the decision that is actually in front of you.

You may get coached directly, or you may listen while I coach another nurse through something that gives you a completely different way of looking at your own situation.

Do I have to share my finances on a live call?

No. Your individual financial work happens privately.

You never have to bring a number or financial detail into a Money Round that you would rather keep between you and me. You can bring a question you are comfortable discussing, ask for coaching around a decision, or simply listen and learn from what another nurse is working through.

You get the benefit of learning alongside other nurses without giving up the privacy of personalized mentorship.

And you do not have to wait for a Money Round to ask me a question.

Your private coaching access continues between calls.

Live NurseMoneyDate Money Rounds group coaching session Live Money Rounds
3 opportunities every weekCome to the one that works for you. Bring a question, get coached, or simply listen.

That is exactly why we do not stop at giving you a recommendation.

When I recommend a next step, you decide whether you are accepting it.

If you accept it, we take it one step further:

When are you actually going to do it?

You choose the day, and we put that action into the context of your real life.

Your shifts. Your appointments. Your travel. Your family plans. Your days off. Everything else already competing for your attention.

Instead of“I should roll over my old 401(k) sometime.”
It becomesTuesday, after my three night shifts, I’m calling the provider and starting the rollover.

There is a difference between knowing your next step and committing to when you are actually going to take it.

That is the kind of accountability we build into the mentorship.

You are not going to become financially independent in nine weeks, and that is not the promise.

What can change significantly is how well you understand your money, how clearly you know what to do next, and how you feel when you have to make a financial decision.

      We work on both sides.

You will get clearer on the numbers: what you have, what your accounts are doing, what needs your attention, what you are working toward, and what your next financial priorities actually are.

But we are also working on the part that numbers alone do not fix.

The avoiding. The overthinking. The fear of making the wrong decision. The feeling that you should already know this. The constant need to double-check yourself before you move.

My goal is for you to leave with a personalized financial direction and more trust in your ability to make decisions with your money.

You will not have every financial decision for the rest of your life figured out.

You will be much better equipped to meet the next one.

Because this is an intimate mentorship where we work closely together and capacity is limited, all enrollments are final.

In more than four years of running NurseMoneyDate®, I have never had a client ask me for a refund.

I take that seriously, and I am very confident in the experience I have built.

At the same time, I do not want you enrolling because you feel pressured or because you are hoping the mentorship will do the work for you.

Please review the enrollment terms, ask any questions you need to ask before purchasing, and join when you are ready to participate fully in the nine weeks.

      Your Next Chapter

What would change if nursing became optional?

Nursing optional can look a lot of different ways. Maybe you stay at the bedside, work fewer shifts, change specialties, take a longer leave, build something of your own, or retire earlier than you expected. The point isn’t to leave nursing. It’s to have enough financial choice to decide what role you want nursing to play in your life.

You don’t have to know exactly what nursing optional looks like yet. You just have to be ready to start building more choice.
